Mornington Women’s Group

The group began their project by exploring the area through mind mapping and a colour walk of the lower Ormeau. We explored the area and how it was meaningful to the group.

It became clear that the relationships they had formed with each other through Mornington were really meaningful and they were connected by friendship, family and support; these became the group’s key themes.

The women created collage pieces in the idea development stage of the project liked this style. They wanted, however, for their finished artwork to be visible from the street. This project developed into a vinyl window piece which celebrated these relationships, with the help of Flax Art Studios we created the vinyl artwork.
